Goal-
The goal of the initiative is to create an environment where new referees, three years of experience or less, can learn and feel supported by the Association. We want to invite mentors to lead a video analysis session of 20-30 minutes about an approved topic of their choice. This video analysis will both fulfill the mentor’s requirements and let new referees feel better and more supported by the association.
Expectations-
- Reach out to [email protected] to express interest.
- In the email, include available days and potential discussion topics (two or three in order of preference).
- After agreeing on a date and topic, you're required to source your own relevant videos.
- If you commit to a date, it is expected that you show up. Cancellations or no-shows without at least 48 hours notice will be noted for future considerations.
Videos-
- We recommend using FIFA RED in order to find the videos but as long as the videos are concise, clear, and have an understandable conclusion, they will be good.
- As this is for new referees, we ask that the videos only focus on one thing at a time to avoid any confusion or distractions.
- At least six videos must be sent to [email protected] at least five days prior for approval and a minimum of three presented.
- We ask that the videos be no longer than a minute, we want to look at a single event not a whole game.
- All videos and content presented must be reviewed.
Kahoot-
- We have found that a lot of participants realy enjoy playing a game of kahoot (trivia) at the end.
- This can be a review of your session
- If you are interested in doing this, please let me know and i can either give you access or i will make it.
Post session-
After the session, a form will be sent out to the participants for feedback, within a week following the session the mentor will receive the anonymous feedback.
